Adaro wins 2026 CSR & PDB Gold Awards in environmental category - ANTARA News Kalimantan Selatan
Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - PT Adaro Indonesia (Adaro) has once again secured a Gold level award at the 2026 Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainable Village Development (CSR & PDB) Awards in the environment category.
The recognition honors the company's "Integrated Waste Management with Horticulture Community Agriculture" program or known as Sinar Permata.
Iwan Ridwan, PT Adaro Indonesia's CSR Department Head, received the award handed over by Deputy Minister of Environment Diaz Hendropriyono at the awarding ceremony held at the Ministry of Village and and Development of Disadvantaged Regions in Jakarta, Monday (September 28, 2026).
”In the future, this program (is expected) to provide wider benefits for the community, inspire more stakeholders and continue to receive sustained support and appreciation from the government,” Iwan said in a press release issued by YABN, Tuesday (September 29, 2026).
CSR & PDB Awards is an annual event held in collaboration between the Ministry of Villages and Disadvantaged Regions and the Indonesian Social Sustainability Forum (ISSF), as a form of appreciation for corporate contributions to sustainable village development.
Meanwhile, Sinar Permata is Adaro's flagship program developed and implemented under the supervision of Yayasan Amanah Bangun Negeri (YABN), the foundation overseeing CSR programs for both Adaro and the AlamTri Group.
It was launched in response to community waste management challanges, ranging from high waste volume have not been managed optimally to limited govenance and lack of adequate waste management facilities and infrastructure.
The Sinar Permata program also optimizes the waste bank building with a capacity of inorganic waste up to 21.79 tons, while encouraging organic waste management of 21.8 tons per year.
Organic waste is processed into eco-enzyme and compost to support horticulture farming, while used cooking oil is converted into products such as candles and soap.
The program includes applying eco-friendly technologies, through the use of solar panels and rainwater harvesting to support more efficient facility management.
It also encourages active community participation in preserving the environment while optimizing local potential to create sustainable social and economic benefits.
This initiative reflects Adaro and YABN's commitment to implementing an integrated, community-empowerment-based approach to environmental management.
